SHARED A ROUTE

This entry focuses on Lenola, South Jersey shoegaze.. Jersey shoegaze? I know .. I don't get it either. However, they did form in 1994 so they are dismissed considering close to anything could happen in that year.
A good friend of mine referred me to this band years ago through a burned copy of the Last 10 Feet of the Suicide Mile. The package design theme was cmyk exclusive to me.. this was the cyan copy.
Often compared to My Bloody Valentine, Lenola is the more rock n roll brother who didn't do as many drugs. OK so they totally did.. but it's still cleaner. Sometimes.

LETS JANGLE

Wikipedia describes this band as 'jangle pop' yeah, ok.
An advantage of the blog is that I get to look up bands who I havent heard much about with each entry I write.
In all the only interesting part of the entry was that they ended in 1990... when most music should have.
The most interesting part of this entry is where I link you to the song.

SUNDAY NIGHT

I didn't do it on purpose, but this song by The Go-Betweens is fitting for the time and day I'm making this post..

I actually just learned recently that they reformed in 2000 (with members of sleaterkinney at that) after not being an active band for almost 12 years.. Not really sure how they expected to pull off as far as keeping their sound in tact, but ill just continue to appreciate them as 80s alt.

I was thinking of starting the blog off with cattle and cane, which was their hit... sort of... however I think it's too upbeat for a Sunday evening. I opted for 'sunday night', with no pun intended obviously.
If you like 80's alternative/punk you'll definitely be into this.

So enjoy. I have it set up so you can listen to the streaming mp3 or download.
